Research Interests:

Our research on the structure and function of membrane proteins attacks one of the most important and challenging problems in contemporary biochemistry. Membrane protein research in the Bishop Lab is focused on the biogenesis of bacterial cell envelopes, including biochemical studies of lipid transport, the bacterial outer membrane enzyme PagP, and the enzymology / signal transduction of lipid A (endotoxin).
