Research Interests:
Our laboratory is interested in understanding host immune responses to chronic viral infections and the development of vaccines that effectively protect against mucosally transmitted viruses. In particular, we are interested in determining the role of T cell-mediated immune responses in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) infection and in understanding the induction and maintenance of effective long-term mucosal immune responses to protect against sexually-transmitted viruses, such as HIV and herpes simplex virus (HSV).
