Centre for Microbial Chemical Biology (CMCB)

The Centre for Microbial Chemical Biology (CMCB) opened in 2009 and is a core lab and vital resource in supporting chemical biology research at both the Michael G. DeGroote Institute for Infectious Disease Research (IIDR) and McMaster University.

The CMCB is a 12,000 sq. foot multi-user lab facility featuring 6 core labs with access to experienced staff and 66 equipment items for chemical biology research. Many equipment items are unique to the CMCB and are a valuable resource to over 300 McMaster users from 76 labs and 13 departments.

The CMCB has the capabilities necessary for cell culture, assay development, high throughput screening, small molecule synthesis, natural product isolations, molecule identification for drug discovery and basic research applications.

The lab is available for use by McMaster employees, students and post-doctoral researchers. Visit cmcbmcmaster.ca for more information.
